Daylighting is ideally suited to military bases as a way to reduce their energy usage. Since the US military is mandated by the legislature to reduce their energy consumption 30% by 2015, bases are actively seeking ways to accomplish that. Daylighting is one of the simplest and most effective ways to meet that objective. Offsetting inside electric lighting for 8 to 10 hours a day has a significant reduction on the energy consumed. And Daylighting System’s high performance, industrial grade component daylighting fixtures can light the largest buildings. In fact, it is our products lighting the largest day-lit facility in America, the 100,000+ square foot B-1 Bomber Hanger.
Below are some of our previous projects with the various Military Entities we work with:
Dyess Air Force Base - Abilene, Texas: installed over seven hundred daylighting units in all of the hangar buildings, maintenance, and warehousing facilities. Dyess Air Force Base is the largest day-lit facility in America spanning over 100,000 sq. /ft., which houses the B-1 Bomber hangar.
